Who’s buying real estate in Hawaii?

As a active board member with our Aloha Chapter of the Asian Real Estate Association of America, a realtor with friends and colleagues in major cities across the U.S., I was not surprised to see this headline in the news today Foreign Buyers buying U.S. real estate.

Because Hawaii is a visitor, resort destination, we see people from all countries visiting then buying vacation homes and rental properties.  As the global population ages, we are seeing more people wanting to live here in their golden years.  If you’d like to see who’s buying on Oahu, Hawaii, here’s an interesting illustration and statistics by Title Guaranty.

If that is the case, we’ll definitely see a need for even more Chinese speaking help and customer service.  On the bright side, if you’re looking for a team with agents who speak Chinese, I have several agents who speak Mandarin or Cantonese.
